Galapagos Day 3: Fernandina Island and the Equator

Nov 08 2021

We had a lovely day yesterday at Fernandina Island. The day kicked off at a lava beach where we saw a massive colony of marine iguanas. On the hike, we also found a cool adolescent hawk and sea turtle sunbathing.

In the afternoon, we got back into the water and did some more snorkeling. It was an awesome chance to hang out with the sea turtles in the water. We also got to see some marine iguanas eating algae and swim with us. One even snuck up to Julia’s face.

In the afternoon, we took a zodiac ride around some unique geological formations and crossed the Equator.
